Yoga Nidra is a form of “meditation” performed while lying in Savasana, a supine relaxing posture.
Deep relaxation, conscious sleep, withdrawal of the senses, experience of the opposites, exploration of the subconscious, union with bliss… Yoga Nidra is all this and much more! The best way to understand is to try!
I’ve been studying the science behind Yoga Nidra first under Michelle Young, direct pupil of Deep Relaxation masters such as Nischala Joy Devi and Richard Miller – during my 50 hours course with her I learned how to use the modern techniques of Yoga Nidra to help people heal their traumas and stress/anxiety-related disorders.
More recently, during one of my trips to India, I had the honor to learn from Yogi Vishnu Panigrahi, accomplished yogi of the Himalayan lineage of Swami Veda Bharati. With him, I explored the ancient knowledge of the tantras and the ancestral techniques of yogic sleep – learning how to use Yoga Nidra and other Himalayan Kriya Yoga techniques to access the 5 layers of the human being, the Pancha Maya Kosha of the Yogic tradition: physical body, energy (breath) body, mental body, wisdom body, and bliss body.
Now I run retreats, workshops, in-person and online classes where I aim to convey the techniques I’ve learned and practiced.
